Drawing and art have been my passion since childhood, and I was probably inspired by my parents, who weren’t professional artists, but who had creative minds. My mother liked to sew clothes and my dad loved to take lots of photos with his Russian camera. He developed his photos in our small bathroom, and I remember that I had to pose for a long time when he set up his equipment for shooting.
After elementary school, I went to Václav Hollar High School of Fine Arts in Prague, where I met amazing personalities and real artists. I was particularly influenced by illustration and typography, as well as puppetry, which I went on to study at university. I made a few puppets and successfully graduated by doing illustrations for a Hans Christian Andersen book.
After school, I started working as an advertising graphic artist and continued working in this field for another ten years. I learned to work with Adobe Photoshop and typography and learned to create logos. My hobbies still include drawing and sketching, and I especially love using pencil as an artistic tool. I really like the opportunity to draw and paint all kinds of things, such as monuments, but also enjoy doing people, animals and still art as well. I just like to illustrate things! I love taking photos and capturing interesting compositions and objects around me. For me, drawing and painting is something that I can’t live without, as it’s part of my LIFE, and that’s why I get so much enjoyment from teaching other people to draw.
Art for me is a form of meditation, when we can fully switch off the mind and concentrate on the creative process. I am fascinated with different artistic techniques, but the pencil remains my favourite. Simply put, I love sharing art with other people.
I have also trained as a craniosacral therapist in trauma therapy and bodywork and have worked in this field for over 8 years. As I love spending time in nature, I have also created my own hiking outdoors agency called Czech Adventure in the Czech Republic, and I speak fluent English, having previously lived in England for over 10 year.
I believe everyone can draw. Whether you are just starting off, returning to art after years without practice, or already have some knowledge of technique, I will help you develop your skills and potential.
